Drop-in Workshop: Coloured Pencil Drawing

Participants begin by exploring fundamental coloured-pencil techniques, including layering, blending, shading, colour mixing and varying the pressure of their marks. They experiment with different strokes and combinations to understand how colours can be intensified, softened or gradually transitioned.

Using these techniques, participants develop an original drawing inspired by a subject of their choice. They consider light, shadow, texture and composition before building their artwork gradually through multiple layers of colour.
