Discover a structured approach to figure drawing inspired by classical atelier training in this three-hour workshop at Tashkeel.

Using graphite, black Conté and white chalk on grey paper, participants explore how structure, light and careful observation work together to capture the human form. The workshop introduces the drawing process through three progressive stages.

Participants begin by establishing the figure’s gesture, proportions, balance and main shapes. They then use light, shadow and tonal values to create form and volume. In the final stage, they refine the drawing by observing anatomical landmarks, edges and subtle transitions.

Three prepared demonstration artworks illustrate the different stages throughout the session. Through guided practice, participants develop their understanding of the figure as a unified whole, with the emphasis placed on learning the process rather than completing a finished artwork.
