Badr Abbas

Badr Abbas is a self-taught Emirati artist who has exhibited nationally and internationally. A member of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, his work explores Emirati folk heritage, using symbols from Arab culture and customs, old and new. He expresses himself through a distinctive yet simplified modern cubist style. A self-taught artist, Badr balances passion with a progressive approach. His role as a connector of people and places is integral to his practice. Often, he merges culture with technology to portray current lifestyles integrated with his values, dreams, aspirations, vision and experiences. This is the message you will always find in Badr’s work. A frequent participant in Tashkeel workshops, Badr has previously exhibited at Tashkeel in COVID Conversations (2021), Plastic (2020) and Made in Tashkeel (2019).
