Tashkeel is pleased to present "Summits of Solitude: Narratives in Nature", a solo exhibition by Ji-Hye Kim. This exhibition marks the completion of Ji-Hye's journey on the Tashkeel Critical Practice Programme (CPP), mentored by Isaac Sullivan.
In ‘Summits of Solitude: Narratives in Nature’, Ji-Hye Kim extends her artistic journey, delving deeper into the serene grandeur of mountains, a theme that has long pervaded her work.
This exhibition, a culmination of her reflections during the CPP period, delves into the intersection of self-identity and nature. Ji-Hye draws inspiration from the rugged beauty of mountains, rocks, and their patterns, using printmaking to manifest her profound experiences in the wilderness. Transitioning from observer to participant, she infuses her essence into artworks that invite viewers into immersive, 360-degree experiences.
Her work is a visual odyssey traversing the strata of time and memory, reflecting the cyclical motion of elements and the perpetual transformation of the environment. ‘Summits of Solitude: Narratives in Nature’ is not merely an observation of nature's grandeur but an immersive dive into it, creating a collective adventure that resonates with the rhythm of our shared human experience. This exhibition marks a significant milestone in Ji-Hye's artistic journey, inviting the viewer to witness and engage with her continued exploration and celebration of the mountains and the self.
