Ji-Hye Kim
Ji-Hye Kim, a Fine Art graduate from Hongik University, Seoul, and MA recipient from Camberwell College, London, moved to the UAE in 2007, reigniting her passion for Printmaking. Inspired by its mountains, she expresses vibrant local nature through diverse techniques.
Ji-Hye explores themes of origin, natural history, and the profound connection between mountains and personal identity. Achievements include winning Radisson Red's 2021 International Women's Day competition, leading to a solo exhibition. Her work was shortlisted for the Emirati Futurism Award – Fine Art, and ‘Unity Prayers’ featured at the 24th Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival in 2021/2022. Ji-Hye also exhibited at the 10th Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival in 2022. Continuing her journey, Ji-Hye participated in three group exhibitions: ‘The Philosophy of Food’ and ‘Made in Tashkeel 2022’ at Tashkeel, Dubai, and the 4th International Miniature Printmaking Exhibition, Dubai Design Week 2022.
Ji-Hye served as the founding chair of KUACA (Korean UAE Art & Content Association) in the group's inaugural exhibition at the Korean Cultural Center, Abu Dhabi in 2022. At the
11th Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival 2023, she joined a group exhibition, jointly organised by the Korean Consulate and KUACA, showcasing the Korean Pavilion. Demonstrating her printmaking prowess, in 2023 Ji-Hye showcased her work at 'Press Print,' Aisha Alabbar Gallery.
