Victor Sitali is a fine artist and holds a BA in Graphic Design. Born and raised in Zambia, he has been living and working in the UAE for over 10 years. Hearing impaired since the age of three, he found a way to express himself through painting seven years ago. His motto is “My voice is heard through the work of my hands.”

Mentored by the acclaimed British artist Trevor Waugh back in 2012, today Sitali’s practice explores both the abstract and figurative primarily in oil and acrylic on canvas but also in watercolour, pastel and charcoal on paper. In 2013, Victor received ‘Best Artist’ and ‘Highly Recommended’ awards at the first Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival. He also received an honorable mention among 1700 artists at the International Emerging Artists Award 2012/13. Most recently, he was specially selected for the 12th Florence Biennale in 2019. To date, Victor’s works have been exhibited in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Holland and Ireland. Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Okongola’ (Galerie Lafayette Gourmet, City Walk, Dubai, 2018); ‘Afro’, (Art Hub, Abu Dhabi, 2018); Okongola (Create Hub Gallery, Dubai, 2017); ‘Afro’ (Jumeirah Golf Estate Clubhouse, Dubai, 2017); ‘Spoken Art’ (Art Couture, Dubai, 2013); and ‘Confluence: A Journey Within’ (Bozana Milic Gallery, Zutphen, Holland, 2012).Victor attended Mawaheb from Beautiful People from 2011 to 2014. He spends most of his time painting in his studio at Tashkeel Al Fahidi and conducting workshops on oil painting, charcoal, art and sign language for schools and art spaces across the country. He also works as a freelance photographer for fashion and art events.
