Lia Staehlin

Lia Staehlin is an award winning jewellery designer and goldsmith from Germany, based in Dubai. Her love for the Arab world brought her to the UAE. Staehlin completed an apprenticeship as a goldsmith in Germany, where she learned all the techniques for manufacturing jewellery, winning an award with her final piece for the best craftmanship in Schwaben, Bavaria.

She went on to study jewellery design in Pforzheim, Germany's 'city of gold'. In 1996 Lia moved to Hamburg, where she opened her studio –Lia Staehlin Fine Jewellery. In 2004 she moved to Dubai where she opened her company Lia Staehlin Jewellery FZCO in the Gold and Diamond park, Dubai. In 2012, she received her second award from the International Jewellery Week Dubai 2012 in the Contemporary Finished Jewellery Piece Award category – the set created was customized for Her Highness, Sheikha Hana al Qassimi of Ras al Khaimah. She regularly exhibits her work in prestigious locations across Europe, the Middle East and Asia such as Grand Ellysee in Hamburg, Germany, Waldorf Astoria in Ras Al Khaimah, Ritz Carlton in Dubai, Taj Palace in New Delhi India amongst others.
