Ebrahim Assur
Ebrahim Assur is from Cape Town, South Africa and has worked in his home city, London and for the last three years, Dubai. His design career began in 2010 as an apprentice for the furniture designer and master craftsman, Pierre Cronje. Having reached the finals of the Design Indaba Emerging Creative Awards in 2013, he made his international debut in 2014 at Design Miami/Basel before exhibiting at 100% Design South Africa in 2018. Ebrahim holds degrees in Architectural Technology and Industrial Design. “For me, design comes from within, it’s a gift that needs to be shared with others. My inspiration is derived from interacting with various surroundings, in a unique way. My process involves extensive research, conceptualization, trials, and errors(R&D), and then the final design selection. Each of my designs are created around a particular theme depending on what I am influenced by or what the design intent is for. As a designer, I am constantly challenging myself to push boundaries and challenge my capabilities by creating signature design and furniture pieces.”
