Winter Camp 2026 (7 to 12 years): From Clay to Play

This playful and hands-on workshop invites young makers to explore clay through the creation of their own handmade Tic-Tac-Toe game. Participants will shape a clay game board and sculpt two sets of playing pieces, experimenting with different forms, characters, colours, and decorative details to personalise their game. Through guided making, children will explore how art and design can be transformed into something interactive and functional, combining clay sculpting, painting, and creative problem-solving to produce a game they can continue to enjoy after the workshop.

What Participants Will Learn

Basic clay techniques including shaping, flattening, joining, and creating small three-dimensional forms. How to use colour, texture, patterns, and character design to personalise their game pieces. How to combine creativity with functional design when creating an interactive object.
