James Razko earned his Master of Fine Arts degree at the New York Academy of Art in 2015. During his time at the Academy, he received the Academy Scholarship, the New Jersey Heart of a Hero Scholarship, was awarded a summer residency in Moscow, Russia, and was one of six nominated for the Chubb Fellowship. His work is published in the acclaimed book, The Figure. In 2018, Razko received a grant from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation.

Summer Camp 2022 is back at Tashkeel with 2 weeks of new workshops for young artists and designers. Each workshop ranges is led by a teaching artist in the UAE, and participants will take home their creations after every workshop!

In this workshop, our young artists will learn the fundamentals of drawing while creating a charcoal drawing of their eye. Students will familiarise themselves with line, value, and gesture while developing the ability to see and understand visual information more clearly. This introductory class will expose students to traditional skills and ideas that are considered the foundation of drawing and painting realistically.
