Chie Nakano is a full-time artist who is passionate about working with children. Chie has studied traditional drawing and painting under the tuition of Eduardo Peña Nuñez at the Artium Peña Art Academy. She continued her studies joining Amaya Gurpide's private Atelier specializing in figure drawing and painting. You can find her most days working in her studio at Tashkeel – Al Fahidi.

By going through the history of self-portraiture, the participating children will sharpen their drawing and painting skills by engaging in a series of fun and engaging self-portraiture exercises. Artist Chie Nakano will take the young painters on a journey starting from classical drawing and to abstract art as they explore colour and texture. This exploration will give the participants the tools to express their own stories and identities as they engage and learn about this very important artistic tradition.
