Spring Camp 2021: Making Books

Muna Al Marashi is a Freelance Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Origami Artist. She recieved her BA in Graphic Design on June 2012 from Zayed University, Dubai, UAE. One of her work was well known by paper folding business cards, packaging, paper toys and such. Through her college years, she took mixed media course to invent her translation by letting her paper fold and mixing colors speaks for itself. Recent works have been selected twice by the Sheikha Manal's Young Artist Award in 2011 and 2015 for recognition being shortlisted. As a Graphic Designer, she attended Tashkeel's workshop in 2016 and got familiar in Risograph and her work was selected for "The Print Edition" being exhibited at SIKKA art fair in 2017.

Have you ever heard of an origami book? This workshop by artist Muna Al Marashi will guide participants through the steps of making a beautiful origami book with square pieces of paper. Participants will work with Muna to decorate their papers with colours, shapes, doodles or drawings that add their own personal touch to their papers before using an accordion binding technique to make a book. Muna will guide every participant through the process and encourage ways of self-expression through folding techniques and colour schemes.
