What can a broken pole, a discarded glove, or a makeshift urban intervention tell us about a city?
Join artist and architect Hamad Almuzaini for an artist-led tour and conversation around Precarious Beings, his first solo exhibition at Tashkeel. The exhibition explores the overlooked details, objects and behaviours that quietly shape our experience of place.
Drawing from his observations of Kuwait City, Hamad considers how cities are shaped not only by urban planning and formal systems, but also by everyday adaptations, human interactions and seemingly insignificant moments. His practice invites us to slow down and look again, transforming ordinary observations into meaningful artistic investigations.
The conversation will explore how everyday observations can inform artistic practice, and how photography, drawing and sculpture can capture intangible sensations, relationships and networks within the built environment.
Led by Jolaine Frizzell, the discussion will bring together Hamad Almuzaini, Muhammad Shamin Sahrum, Baneen Nazir and others for a conversation spanning artistic practice, observation, placemaking and the ways we understand the environments we inhabit.
Join us for an evening of conversation, reflection and a closer look at the hidden stories embedded within our surroundings.
