Hamad Al Muzaini

Hamad Al Muzaini is a Kuwaiti architect and designer based in Dubai. His academic background includes an Architecture degree from the University of Southern California followed by a Master’s degree in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. Hamad has worked in architectural practices in Kuwait, Los Angeles, Tokyo and New York on projects of varying scale; from start-ups dealing with prefabricated/modular construction to addressing global housing shortages and bespoke projects in Manhattan. This experience made him understand not only the importance of how streamlined design can reach global audiences but also the power of specificity in responding to one’s immediate context. After returning to the GCC, Hamad developed a strong interest in the unconventional aspects of everyday infrastructural objects (and the spaces in between) that emerged during the early phases of nation-building.
