In this course, participants will make a piece of jewellery using silver or brass, to make rings, earrings, bracelets, or a necklace. The participants will be using old goldsmith techniques, like reticulation and granulation, in combination with resin. The aim of the workshop is to experiment with old goldsmith techniques with the more modern resin, and have unexpected beautiful results!
Outline:
Day 1: Demonstration of reticulation, granulation, and resin.
Students will start working on test pieces to get used to the new techniques.
Day 2: Preparing designs for the jewellery the students want to make. Making the frame for the resin cabochon or photograph working on test pieces.
Day 3: Working on the jewellery design, which was made in day 2, and preparing the shapes needed for the jewellery designs.
