Discover the art of sculpting faces in clay. This hands-on workshop begins with an introduction to clay—its types, properties, and how it transforms into ceramic through drying and firing. Participants will learn essential techniques such as hand-building, slab work, coiling, and modeling.
Guided step-by-step, you’ll study the structure and proportions of the human face, gaining the skills to sculpt realistic or stylized facial features including the eyes, nose, lips, and ears. With expert guidance, you’ll shape your own ceramic face sculpture, focusing on proportion, symmetry, and expression.
Your completed piece will be dried and fired in the kiln, ready to be taken home as a finished ceramic artwork.
