Nurture creative skills and thinking in the Tashkeel Afterschool Arts Club, every Tuesday from 4–6pm (10 September – 26 November). Suitable for 8–14 years, the workshops explore methods and techniques in a variety of disciplines, including product design, textiles, publication, fashion and costume design. Participants are encouraged to develop their own styles and use their creativity to address the topics discussed. Each workshop is rooted in creative critical thinking and dialogue around the themes of sustainability, community, identity and making.
Build a makeshift projector using found materials. With their smartphones, participants will examine the creative possibilities of a projector as a tool, in response to ‘Connected’, a projection work currently exhibited in the exhibition ‘Made in Tashkeel 2019’. Participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphones to use for the projector.
