Induction Day

Tanween 2019 kicked off with Induction day, a chance for all the designers to meet each other and the mentors that will be working with them for the next year. Designers Abdalla Almulla, Alia Mazrooei, Lana El Samman and Yara Habib arrived at Tashkeel and met with Salim Ahmed, the Project Coordinator at Tashkeel, and Helen Voce (virtually!), the international programme facilitator.
Induction day consisted of presentations and a general overview of the programme, giving the designers a chance to understand the missions of Tashkeel and values of the Tanween. The designers also worked with Helen on setting the ground rules for the programme to encourage a supportive, collaborative spirit between everyone.
The 2019 designers were introduced to Tanween alumni Alya Aleghfeli, Hala Al-Ani, Renad Hussein and Jumana Taha who offered the new cohort advice and shared their own experience of Tanween, looking at how their career has shaped since completing the Tanween programme.
