Tania Ursomarzo

Immersed somewhere between design, architecture and art, Tania Ursomarzo’s creative work explores the design and making of space and objects in response to the body and the intersection of analogue and digital technologies. Architecture is the foundation of her design training while cross-disciplinary design is the foundation of her practice. Her creative work and professional career have taken an unconventional path and crosses the fields of architectural, interior, fashion and product design as well as visual art and performance. Her research studies how the hybridization of traditional and contemporary fabrication techniques can yield innovative design; a new approach to the creative design process and, ultimately, enabling the discovery of sustainable systems of production and consumption. Currently, Tania is Assistant Professor of Architecture at the College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD), American University of Sharjah. She is the founder and creative director of ETCETERAcreative, an independent design and fabrication research studio and TRIPTYCH, a New York-based fashion product brand. Under the umbrella of ETCETERAcreative, projects range from installations, exhibition and performance-space design, architecture and interior design, to product design and fashion products.
