Rima Moukahal
Rima Moukahal is an abstract expressionist artist whose practice delves into the depths of human emotion and experience. Her artistic journey began early with a scholarship to study drawing in Italy, igniting a lifelong fascination with color and painting. After a lengthy career in the corporate sector, Moukahal returned to her passion for art, driven by an insatiable quest for knowledge and creativity. Guided by prominent Arab artists in Beirut, Cairo, and Dubai, she cultivated her unique voice, focusing on the emotional and psychological dimensions of collective human experiences.
In her studio in Dubai, Moukahal employs an array of materials—colors, gestures, layers, fabrics, threads, and papers—to express her innermost thoughts and feelings. Her art serves as a miniature circuit that connects her to her hidden self, inviting viewers to confront their own truths. She embraces abstraction as a language, finding freedom and clarity in the creative process, which teaches her resilience and the joy of continuous learning.
Moukahal believes that art has the power to liberate, confront, and illuminate, allowing both the artist and the viewer to explore the complexities of existence. With each piece, she aims to resonate with the audience, fostering a connection that invites them to visualize and engage with their own emotions.
