Lateefa bint Maktoum is the Founder and Director of Tashkeel, a centre of contemporary art and design founded in 2008 providing specialist facilities for artists and designers living and working in the UAE. Lateefa graduated from Zayed University Latifa College in 2007 with a B.A. in Visual Arts and has gained widespread recognition for her digital montage work. Her artwork can be found in private collections nationally and internationally.

An exhibiting artist since 2004, Lateefa has participated in exhibitions in cities including Berlin, Venice, Washington, Paris, New York, Denver, Brisbane, Shanghai and Seoul, including: Perceptions (2006, Third Line, Dubai); No Such Place 2 (2008, Roger Smith Hotel, NYC); Educating Artists Online (2008, Syracuse New York); Emirati Expressions (2009 & 2011, Emirates Palace/ Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi); Across the Gulf (2009, Brisbane Arc Biennial); Dubai Next: Faces of Tomorrow (2013, Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris); Past Forward: Contemporary Art from the Emirates (2013-14, USA tour); 1971: Contemporary Art from the UAE (2015, Farjam Foundation, Dubai); Jardins d’ Orient (2016, Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris); Portrait Of A Nation (2016 / 2017, Emirates Palace / meCollectors Room, Abu Dhabi / Berlin); Ways of Seeing (2018, NYU Abu Dhabi). She has exhibited at Better City Better Life (2010, UAE Pavilion, Expo Shanghai); Bastakiyah Art Fair (2010 & 2012, Dubai); and Art Dubai (2011, 2012). In 2011, Lateefa was one of three artists selected to exhibit at the National Pavilion United Arab Emirates – la Biennale di Venezia 2011, curated by Vasif Kortun.

Lateefa bint Maktoum is a recipient of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Patrons of the Arts Award (2010, 2011) and the Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award (2012).
