Amal Haliq

Amal Haliq is an Emirati Jewellery Designer; she grew up with a passion for gems. Although she initially pursued a career in Human Resources, in 2009 she decided to follow her life-‐long love for jewellery design.

In 1994, Amal graduated from the American University of Washington DC with a Business Administration degree and in 1998, she graduated with a double major in Business Administration & Information Systems from Humberside & Lincolnshire University in the UK prior to embarking on a very successful HR career.

Amal held senior HR executive roles in the government and private sector in the UAE. She is a member of the Middle East Information Exchange Group (MELEG), the Institute of Neuro Linguistic Psychology (NLP) and the American Society for Training and Development.

Amal’s passion for jewellery started at a very early age inspired by her mother’s jewellery collection. As a young child, Amal enjoyed visiting the gold souk with her family. As a young adult, Amal indulged in her jewellery design aspirations by adding “a personal design touch” to her jewellery purchases. Over the years Amal nurtured her talent for jewellery design and in 2009 she enrolled at London’s Central Saint Martin College for Art and Design and The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) where she completed the ‘Jewellery Design, Diamond Grading, Pearl Grading and Colored Stones Identification Program’. Amal believes that jewellery completes a woman’s look and is confident that her debut collection will make women feel beautiful and glamorous.

Amal is fascinated by gem stones; among her favorites are the Alexandrite, Andalusite, Padparadscha Sapphire and Jadeite – and of course, diamonds. As the saying goes “diamonds are a girl’s best friend” however Amal believes that “jewellery is a girl’s best friend”.

Amal draws inspiration from iconic jewellery designers such as Harry Winston, Boucheron, Cartier, Sevan Bicakci, Wendy Yue and in the region she is a big fan of the legendary Azza Fahmy and Dima.

Amal is an avid traveler, enjoys reading, and loves art and fashion.
