Alia Al Shamsi
Alia Al Shamsi, the first Emirati woman to gain recognition for her work as a photo-journalist, documents locations in Dubai with both acute insight and a sense of humor. She has captured very specific locations, well-known and beloved by the local community, which may have been assumed to have been lost in the rapid developments which have overwhelmed the city, but which continue to exist side-by-side with their modern counterparts.
