This workshop will be focusing on the textile technique called Weaving. This is one of the oldest methods used to create fabric. Participants will produce a fabric sample using the technique of weaving during this workshop. Experimenting with contrasting colours, variety of yarns with different thickness. The participants will create their own loom which they will take away with them at the end of the workshop.
Weaving is a method of textile production in which two distinct sets of yarns or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth. Similar methods are knitting, felting, and braiding or plaiting. The longitudinal threads are called the warp and the lateral threads are the weft or filling.
