Still Life Drawing Charcoal

Participants explore the expressive possibilities of charcoal by creating a drawing from a carefully arranged still life.
Through guided observation, they will examine the shapes, proportions, light and shadows of the objects before building their composition on paper. Using simple charcoal techniques, including shading, blending, layering and mark-making, participants will create depth, contrast and texture within their artwork.
The workshop offers a relaxed introduction to observational drawing, allowing participants to work at their own pace and develop a personal interpretation of the still life.
