Shaped by Hand: Ceramic Hand-Building

Discover the expressive possibilities of clay through the art of hand-building. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore fundamental ceramic techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab construction to shape clay without using a pottery wheel.
Participants will learn how to join, refine and balance their forms before adding texture, pattern or decorative details to the surface. Each participant will create an original functional or decorative ceramic piece, such as a bowl, vessel, planter or sculptural object. The completed works can be glazed and fired following the workshop.
