Procreate Series : Procreate Portrait

This two-session series is an invitation to draw the human face on the iPad, using Procreate to explore digital portraiture from the first sketch to a polished finish. Across two focused sessions, participants will move from understanding the structure of the face to rendering it in colour, light, and detail — all with the freedom, flexibility, and endless undo button that digital drawing allows. In a relaxed, hands-on setting, participants will get to know Procreate's brushes, layers, and tools while building a genuine understanding of how to capture likeness and character. By the end of the series, each participant will have completed a finished digital portrait of their own.

What Participants Will Learn?
In the first session, participants will get to know the Procreate interface — brushes, layers, colour, and gesture controls — and learn the foundations of portrait drawing, from facial proportions and structure to blocking in a likeness. In the second session, they will build on this to develop their portrait in full: working with light and shadow, skin tones, and detail, and using layers to refine and finish their work. Along the way, participants will pick up a digital workflow they can carry into their own projects, leaving with a completed portrait and the confidence to keep drawing on the iPad.
