Procreate Series

Participants will take their digital portrait-drawing skills to the next level in this immersive two-part Procreate workshop. Building on their existing familiarity with the application, they will explore advanced techniques for creating realistic and expressive portraits while developing greater confidence in digital drawing, painting and image refinement.
Through guided demonstrations and practical exercises, participants will examine key aspects of portraiture, including facial proportions, composition, colour selection, tonal values, light and shadow, skin tones, hair and facial details. They will experiment with Procreate brushes, textures, layers, blending modes, masks and other digital tools to build depth, dimension and atmosphere within their work.
Across the two sessions, participants will develop a complete digital portrait from the initial sketch through to the final rendered artwork. They will be encouraged to refine their individual visual style while learning how to make thoughtful creative and technical decisions throughout the portrait-making process.
Prior experience using Procreate is recommended, as the workshop will focus on developing existing skills rather than introducing the application’s basic functions.

Participant Requirements
Participants must bring an iPad with Procreate installed and a compatible Apple Pencil. Prior experience using Procreate is recommended.
