Nerikomi Pottery

Discover Nerikomi, a Japanese ceramic technique in which coloured clays are layered, stacked and sliced to reveal intricate patterns within the clay itself.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore colour combinations and experiment with layering, arranging and cutting clay to create distinctive patterns. Through guided demonstrations, they will learn how to assemble a patterned clay block before slicing it to uncover the design held within. The patterned sections will then be carefully joined and shaped into a unique functional or decorative ceramic piece.
No prior ceramics experience is required. All pieces will be fired and glazed by the Tashkeel team following the workshop and made available for collection at a later date.
