Come and explore Moku Hanga, the oldest form of printmaking! Experience its continuing creative importance and the distinctive aesthetics that the art of Japanese Woodblock Printing offers.
This 2 day workshop will provide the opportunity to learn about the use of traditional tools, materials, and inks used in the production of a Japanese woodblock print.
Participants will discover how the medium can be used to produce imagery in a number of different ways - with rich viscous inks, hand-carved blocks and experimenting with the tactile nature of the traditional print process. The happy accidents and unintended results are vital in the cultivation of creativity and new ideas.
