Resident artist Tsukiyama Yuuki will be leading Minimal 3D, a workshop that involves merging 2D and 3D within the dimensions of a single photo frame. Inspired by his 5 year old daughter Say, the purpose of the workshop is to create a new type of image making that inspires ideas about layering and synergy.

Using dot stickers and sheets of clear film, the participants will be exploring simple methods to transform flat materials and combine them to create a unique illusionistic effect of depth and substance. The techniques involve elements of play and use of the imagination, encouraging the viewer and the maker of the final result to contemplate on the construction and tangibility of the work. Participants will gain the skills to explore the technique on their own, and will also get to take their final piece home at the end of the workshop!
