For those who have already felt clay rise between their hands, this eight-session series is an invitation to go further. Where the beginner course was about coaxing the clay into its first forms, this intermediate series is about control, refinement, and ambition. Over eight sessions, participants will throw taller and wider with greater consistency, then finish their work with the attention that separates a competent pot from a confident one — building a genuine repertoire of bowls, lidded vessels, handled forms, and bottles along the way.
Why Choose This Workshop?
Designed for participants who have completed a beginner course or have comparable experience, this series bridges the gap between making a single successful piece and producing work with intention and consistency. With small group sizes and individual guidance, participants receive attentive feedback that helps them correct the habits holding their work back, while gaining the confidence to tackle more demanding forms.
What Participants Will Learn?
Participants will refine their centring and learn to throw consistently to weight, producing taller cylinders and wider bowls with even walls. They will master trimming and footrings for a considered finish, pull and attach handles for mugs and jugs, throw and fit lids, and shape bottle forms through collaring and necking. By the final session, they will have built a body of more accomplished work and the vocabulary to keep developing independently at the wheel.
