Make Works | Gold Leaf: Mixed Media Exploration

Part of Maker’s Days 2026, this hands-on workshop at Tashkeel Makers Space invites participants to discover the expressive possibilities of gold leaf through mixed media exploration.

Participants will explore how gold leaf can be incorporated into mixed media compositions, experimenting with its distinctive surface, reflectivity and visual impact alongside other materials. The session encourages participants to approach gold leaf as more than a decorative finish, using it as an element within a wider creative composition.

Through hands-on making and experimentation, participants will develop their own mixed media work while exploring different ways of combining materials, textures and surfaces.
