This workshop focuses on the skills required to design and produce a jewellery set drawing on the facilities of wax moulding in silver and gold, a method commonly used in the region for elaborate and ornate carvings for rings, pendants and earrings. Along with wax moulding, other goldsmith techniques will also be explored in the course of the workshops, including: filing, sawing, bending, soldering and stone setting. Students will manufacture one or two items from their designs for a jewellery set, using the techniques mastered in the sessions.
