Gestures in Plaster

Explore the relationship between the body, gesture, texture and form through plaster gauze casting. This immersive workshop introduces participants to the expressive possibilities of gauze, transforming a soft, flexible material into a three-dimensional sculptural surface.
Participants will learn how to prepare, apply, layer and shape plaster gauze to capture a selected gesture or form. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on experimentation, they will explore how positioning, texture and layering influence the character of a sculpture.
The workshop invites participants to slow down and observe the language of gesture: how a simple pose or shape can communicate emotion, movement and presence.
