From Element to Textile: Screen Printing Course

Join us for a 3-day silkscreen printing course where participants will be introduced to the basics of silkscreen printing and printmaking on textiles.

During this course, you will learn:

1. Silkscreen Printing Basics: Participants will learn different techniques for applying and printing on fabric using silkscreen printing.

2. The Design Process: Participants will design patterns based on a theme of their choice. We will develop their designs and prepare them for film. Participants can decide if they want to create their designs by hand, scan them, and print them digitally on film; draw directly on film by hand; or create them fully digitally. They will learn how to prepare designs for filming and how to prepare a digital file for silkscreen printing.

3. Exposure Unit and Timing: Participants will learn about the exposure unit, how to time the exposure correctly, and how to make the screen ready for printing.

4. Printing on Fabric: Participants will learn and experiment how to print their designs on fabric.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the silkscreen printing process and will be able to create, prepare, and print their own designs on fabric independently
