Experience the tactile beauty of drawing directly onto a printing plate in this expressive and accessible intaglio workshop.
Drypoint etching introduces participants to one of the most direct techniques in printmaking, where images are incised into a metal or acrylic plate using a sharp needle, producing rich, velvety lines and soft textural tones.
Through guided demonstrations, participants will learn plate preparation, mark-making, inking, and wiping techniques, exploring how each stage influences the final print. The workshop focuses on developing a personal drawing style while experimenting with line, texture, and tonal variation.
Why Choose This Workshop?
- Explore an immediate and expressive printmaking technique
- Translate drawing into a tactile, hand-printed outcome
- Develop confidence in mark-making and texture
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
