Are you interested in exploring the intersection of traditional architectural representation and modern illustration techniques? This workshop offers a unique approach to technical and objective illustration that draws upon conventional drawing methods.
During the workshop, we will focus on lived domestic spaces, whether nostalgic or current. Participants are required to bring a photo of a domestic space they inhabit, such as a home office, living room, or studio. Using this photo as a starting point, we will guide you through the process of identifying the different "layers" that can be extracted from the image. Each "layer" will represent an object, memory, or space from the photo and collectively contribute to an interpretation of the space.
You will use an isometric graph as a digital base to sketch out an exploded isometric of the layers you identified. You will then be taught architectural illustration techniques such as annotations, callouts, section cuts, and more, to give your sketches a technical and professional finish.
Finally, you will discuss your illustrations and narratives with the other participants to reflect on your work and gain new insights. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in exploring illustration techniques and their application in architectural representation.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own digital devices for illustrations.
