Led by Vera Cannone (aka Bera) the master printmaker and founder of Le Raclet Screenprint (Berlin), this three-day course offers an overview of all the styles and effects that can be reproduced with screenprint. Acquire the full range of skills to be able to independently hand-screenprint your personal projects and produce a perfectly crafted editions on paper.
The course begins with a focus on technique with exercises such as mono-printing and cut-and-print, familiarising participants with handling screens and pulling prints. Discover how to develop a screenprint project from artwork conception to the preparation of film positives and creations of screens. Learn how to mix water-based inks and make an accurate registration between the colours. Explore the different ways (both analogue and digital) that can be used to create a film positive and a screen. Participants will be invited to build their own personal style through a two-colour artwork that will be printed on 20x30 cm paper. Artworks prepared in the workshops will then be checked, reviewed and made print-ready.
Suitable for beginners with basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
