Zainab Farhat

Zainab Farhat studies Studio Art at the American University in Dubai. "I think of my art as unfinished inventories that are constantly improved upon over time. The end goal is to spark interest in the process of creating. My early pieces were driven by an emotional context and expressed an array of feelings typically common to everyone’s experience. In time, I have grown and have recently discovered a new-found purpose to direct my pieces to contribute to the movement against plastic waste. The work I have executed so far are attempts to highlight (upon close examination) the consequences of overconsumption and incorrect disposal of plastic waste. I hope to grow and create work that is relatable, understandable and impactful on future generations and try and instil a wave of change, no matter how small."
