Wafa Al Falahi

Wafa1

Wafa Al Falahi is an Emirati multidisciplinary designer who graduated from the American University of Sharjah with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. As an interior designer, her work integrates different topics across disciplines like culture, history, and the sciences that manifest in the act of space-making. She gained experience as a member of the ID + team guided by Professor Juan Roldan. She collaborated with other students to design the RIBA Gulf Exhibition in the Dubai Design District. In conjunction with her degree, she also works with clay as a primary medium of exploration. Through that, she can create sculptural pieces that speak of fluidity in motion in which objects become living and breathing forms that interact with the existing world. Al Falahi exhibited her work at Satellite's "A Casual Showcase," where she navigated relations with an audience and critique for the first time. Moreover, Wafa works with clients across the UAE to design and produce their tableware. Al Falahi continues exploring her imprint as a maker across disciplines. Recently she was selected for the Athath Fellowship 2022, where she was able to explore her tactile skills as a furniture maker.
