Shazia Salam
Shazia Salam is an artist negotiating with her displaced cultural identity. She looks for answers in the architecture of objects around her.
Her curiosity in materials and designed objects comes from her background in architecture. Seeking contradictions – she plays with the functionality of familiar readymade objects. By using a range of media, including sculpture, installation and works on paper, her practice looks at what belonging means in the globalised world.
