Seema Rao is an artist working with sculpture and video to create site – specific installations. Her work display and stimulates interaction between her work and its audience in the public realm. She also particularly interested in creating installations in spaces beyond the parameters of established art spaces as she engages with the role and relationships of the individual in a changing society. Her large-scale site - specific installations in San Francisco/ Oakland Biennale 2005, St Pancras Chambers, the Hackney Empire and Spital Square in London and in the Medieval churches in Kent.

Seema Rao was born in India. After her BA in Art in Bangalore, she studied and worked as an artist in Philadelphia for 4 years then moved to London where in 2000 finished MA at Goldsmiths College. Since Goldsmiths, she lived in London until 2014 and recently moved to Dubai.
