Sarah Burt

Sarah Burt is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee and has exhibited in the USA and UK. Much of her work is heavily inspired by cultures and traditions outside that of her own. As well as wanting to develop work using the media she is most comfortable with (watercolour painting and screenprinting), during the residency at Tashkeel she is eager to experiment with textiles and other mediums that could add another dimension to her printmaking practice.

Her painting and printmaking has a strong focus on character design, often inspired by different cultures’ traditions and beliefs and represent intangible things such as emotions and concepts. An experienced teaching-artist, Sarah has also extensive experiences in running workshops in zine-making and other techniques for adults and young people.
