Mahmoud Abdelghany
He studied Biochemistry at Ain Shams University, where he developed an analytical mindset that continues to shape his design approach.
Since 2013, he has worked across branding, lettering, calligraphy, and type design. His work has been awarded and exhibited internationally. In November 2024, he founded his type foundry, maType.
In June 2025, he launched Khat Gdeed, a workshop exploring the contemporary use of Arabic letters. His work is driven by a simple intention: to keep Arabic visual identity active, relevant, and alive.
