Hanadi Badow

Hanadi Badow makes traditional Emirati dolls, a practice she learnt from her grandmother. Dolls are typically distinguished by their wide eyes, long hair, Arab features and traditional clothing. She regularly participates in heritage festivities nationwide, including the Maritime Heritage Festival by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism.

Hanadi is dedicated to preserving this element of cultural heritage particularly associated with women. All the fabrics she uses are acquired locally and used in developing every detail of the doll including shayla, kandura, kaba, abaya and burka.
