Asma Shikoh

Asma Shikoh explores the dichotomies of ownership within displacement, achieving a sense of belonging while being out of place, setting up home in a state of temporary permanence, searching for deeper meaning in fleeting connections with the city and its people. Her collaborative practice is based on social landscapes, touching upon themes of shared identity, social justice and global citizenship within an increasingly polarised world.

Asma has a BFA degree and has taught extensively. Her work has been showcased internationally in several group and solo shows and has been profiled by media including The New York Times, BBC and NPR. It can be found in the collection of the Statue of Liberty Museum, NYC.
