Akbar Hassan

Akhbar Hassan collaborated in the New Normal Sketchbook’ project by the White Lines Collective. Founded in 2019 by Abhirami Suresh, the White Lines Collective is a social design inquiry into narratives of mental health in higher education institutions and among young adults, and the various ways to provoke conversation through creative practices.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, the White Lines Collective shifted its efforts to visually documenting narratives and experiences of the pandemic from the perspectives of individuals aged 18-26. Through frameworks of co-creation, collaboration and participatory design, the New Normal Sketchbook’ project creates avenues for young individuals to come together in one space, converse about their experiences, and create visual expressions for collective coping.
