Ahmad Mattar
Ahmad Mattar’s artistic journey began with the Arabic letter. Over the past seven years, he has explored its forms, rhythms, and hidden energies, gradually developing a deep understanding of the letter as more than a writing system—seeing it instead as a living visual entity capable of transformation, expression, and storytelling.
In his work, Mattar often searches for the presence of the letter within nature, drawing inspiration from the curves of mountains, the movement of wind, and the rhythm of shadows. Through these observations, he revisits classical calligraphic traditions not by replicating them, but by allowing them to evolve into new visual forms that carry contemporary emotions and meanings.
Mattar’s academic background in Business Administration has also influenced his perspective, providing him with insight into market dynamics and branding culture. This enables him to navigate between art and design, balancing aesthetic exploration with a strong understanding of how visual work communicates with diverse cultures and audiences.
