Layan Attari’s practice focuses on shared myths and objects of soft power that construct social histories. She will be sharing her research on the shifting definitions of patriotism in the UAE. Through the use of photographic documentation, her project emphasizes the symbolism of using military-themed cakes as a normalized way of celebrating National Service.
